Federico del Campo

We are actively seeking to acquire paintings by Federico del Campo.

Federico del Campo was born in Lima but studied in Madrid under Lorenzo Valles (1830-1910). He exhibited a View of Venice in Madrid in 1881. He had traveled substantially in Italy by this time, painting views of Venice, Assisi, Naples and Capri, which he sold to American and European visitors on the Grand Tour popular in the 19th century. Campo was particularly skilled in painting figures, adding a liveliness to his technically accomplished and very detailed works. His closest competitor was Rubens Santoro.
