Yehouda Chaki, born in Athens in 1938, revealed to the world a unique artistic vision of its beauty, hopes and possibilities. Chaki’s cultural contributions in Canada were recognized and celebrated throughout his long career, most recently by the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, and the National Assembly of Quebec. His fine, distinct work graces the walls of important institutions and private residences in Canada and abroad. These works of many media – oil paintings, drawings, serigraphs, installations – are each a fountain of passion, wonder and expression.  Chaki the artist, the mensch, the friend, will be deeply missed.
