David James

British

David James was a prolific painter of coastal views and seascapes, who flourished at the end of the 19th century. Unfortunately little is known of the artist’s personal life.

James realistic style distinguished him from his contemporaries and his keen eye allowed him to capture the beauty, grace and magnificence of the sea. He was particularly skilled at painting waves.

He exhibited extensively during a short period of time, including the Royal Academy between 1886-1897.
